It was about the right time, Josh, but unfortunately unknown to me. If only I'd had someone to introduce it to me, it might have made all the difference.

I recall that Mariel Hemingway did some commendable if short-lived eyebrow work on "Manhattan", with Woody Allen. I wonder if her influence was longer lasting than the eyebrows, and indeed, of any comfort at the time. (1979-80)

I think at my school they probably would have paused for a moment, then yelled "she likes art - get her!" And you're right, the Abba Frida had those blonde, Scandanavian eyebrows which would definitely require tinting later down the track. Loser!

I agree with Josh, Frida Kahlo (and her eyebrows) are wonderful. However, claiming allegiance to Brooke Shields was probably more likely to get Emma out of trouble in the Hobart Primary School playground of the 1980's. In this environment, claiming coolness through resemblance to a female Mexican artist may not have furthered Emma's case for her eybrows. The only Frida they would have been familiar with is the one from Abba - and from memory she was a bit scant in the eyebrow department?

Point taken Josh, but I prefer a happy, well adjusted life to artistic torment. Also, my brow was never mono, even at it's most fulsome. Pilchen is a lot like the cat in the background of some of her paintings though.
